Former Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Malam Nasir el-Rufai, will formally declare his intention to contest in the Kaduna State governorship election in 2015.
Briefing journalists yesterday in Kaduna, one of el-Rufai’s associates and a frontline politician, Alhaji Suleiman Othman Hunkuyi, said his team was working and promoting the former minister who would soon make his intention known to Kaduna people.
Hunkuyi, who denied nursing governorship ambition, vowed that whosoever emerges as the candidate on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) would defeat Governor Mukhtar Ramalan Yero with a landslide victory.
His words: “We are working and prompting Malam Nasir Ahmad El- Rufai to contest for the office of Kaduna State governor. It is not his decision, but that of good and concerned people to take Kaduna State back to where it belongs.
“We are presently in a rut, garbage and a smelling dustbin that our people have suffocated enough.
“Defeating those running the government of Kaduna State now is as easy as ABC. Because the state is decaying, what remains is just picking the state from the mess.
“Majority of the people are not happy with this inept government, and they will push them out.”
Hunkunyi added: “Nothing is left of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kaduna State, but packages of lies. Some people are just discovering and waiting for the right time
