As the nation moves closer to the 2015 polls, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar III yesterday appealed to politicians to shun campaign of calumny and conduct activities peacefully.
“Nigerians are brothers and sisters and politics should not divide us and cause a breach of the peace,” he stressed.
He made the call yesterday in his Sallah message to Muslims in Nigeria.
The royal father reminded politicians that God gives and takes leadership, assuring that he would continue to be father to all politicians. “Our doors will remain open to all,” he added.
The Sultan harped on the need for the three tiers of government to do more towards addressing the problem of youth unemployment, which he noted was becoming more endemic across the country.
He linked prevailing problems plaguing Nigeria to unemployment.
Sultan, however, said with fervent prayers and piety, most problems plaguing Nigeria would be solved.
He solicited the prayers and assistance of all Nigerians for the victims of insurgency in some parts of Nigeria.
