Music legend Innocent Idibia, famously known as 2Baba, stunned fans with an unexpected announcement of his separation from wife, actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia.
The revelation came via a now-deleted Instagram post, where the artist disclosed that the couple, married since 2012, had been separated for a while and had filed for divorce.
In the post, 2baba wrote:
“𝙃𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙤 𝙏𝙤 𝙈𝙮 𝘽𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙞𝙛𝙪𝙡 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙊𝙛 𝘼𝙡𝙡 𝙁𝙚𝙙𝙚𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣𝙨. 𝙒𝙚𝙡𝙡, 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙏𝙝𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙄 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝙏𝙤 𝙎𝙖𝙮 𝙄𝙨 𝙎𝙝𝙤𝙧𝙩 𝘽𝙪𝙩 𝘼𝙡𝙨𝙤 𝙇𝙤𝙣𝙜… 𝙄 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝘼𝙣𝙣𝙞𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙃𝙖𝙫𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙎𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘼 𝙒𝙝𝙞𝙡𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙬 𝘼𝙣𝙙 𝘾𝙪𝙧𝙧𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙡𝙮 𝙁𝙞𝙡𝙚𝙙 𝙁𝙤𝙧 𝘿𝙞𝙫𝙤𝙧𝙘𝙚.”
He assured fans he would later release a detailed statement to share his side of the story.
However, few minutes after the post went live, it was deleted, and 2Baba claimed his Instagram account had been hacked.
He wrote again:
“𝙈𝙮 𝙄𝙣𝙨𝙩𝙖𝙜𝙧𝙖𝙢 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩 𝙃𝙖𝙨 𝘽𝙚𝙚𝙣 𝙃𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙚𝙙, 𝙀𝙛𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙨 𝘼𝙧𝙚 𝘽𝙚𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙧𝙞𝙚𝙙 𝙊𝙪𝙩 𝙏𝙤 𝙏𝙖𝙠𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝘾𝙤𝙣𝙩𝙧𝙤𝙡 #𝙊𝙣𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚!”
In a follow-up video he reconfirmed his earlier post of the divorce with a video posted on his Instagram account saying:
“𝙉𝙤𝙗𝙤𝙙𝙮 𝙃𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙈𝙮 𝘼𝙘𝙘𝙤𝙪𝙣𝙩, 𝙉𝙖 𝙈𝙚 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠 𝙒𝙚𝙩𝙞𝙣 𝙄 𝙒𝙖𝙣 𝙏𝙖𝙡𝙠”
2Baba and Annie, who share two children has faced public scrutiny over the years, particularly after Annie accused him of infidelity in 2021, alleging a relationship with his baby mama, Pero Adeniyi.
