85 YEAR-OLD MAN TACKLES AIRTEL FOR PAINTING HOUSE WITHOUT APPROVAL

Date:

An 85 year-old retired
teacher and titled chief, Pa Williams Olufemi Olamitoke, has threatened court
action against one of the nation’s giant mobile telecommunication operators,
Airtel Nigeria for allegedly branding his 40-year-old one-storey house without
lawful authorisation.

The branded one-storey house in the company’s colour and logo
in Akoko-Southwest Local Government Area of Ondo State, according to the
octogenarian community leader, had brought him into disrepute especially as the
company had turned deaf ears to his numerous complaints.

Specifically, Chief Olamitoke accused Airtel of deceiving him
about 20 months ago into believing that the “unlawful act”, was one of its
corporate responsibilities to the society when it “defaced my house” with the
company’s colour.
