“It is a fact that, for every need, payments and actions of
the PRTT, a creation of the office of the Head of Service, including
stationeries receives his approval. The nation is aware for too long that the
PRTT had no appropriation from any quarters except through his office.”

The Task Team maintained that if such a large sum of money is
missing, right under his nose, then, it is clear and obvious that he knows
about it. “Is he not the one who signs approval of the pension payments the
PRTT makes? He is also aware that no single kobo coin or Naira note passes
through the PRTT without his approval” .

It explained that contrary to claims by the Senator Etuk led
Probe Committee that it stole pension funds from various offices including the
military, the Maina –Led PRTT had business only with Head of Service Pension
Office, Police Pension Office, Department of State Services Pension
Office and the Customs, Immigration and Prison Pension Office, but never
existed during the period under review.

The statement noted that the PRTT came into existence in July
2010 and commenced pension paper preparation in January 2011, hence, cannot be
held responsible for the monies missing prior to its inauguration.

The statement further alleged that when the Head of Service
Pension Office hijacked the paper-work preparation of monthly pensions from the
Pension Reform Task Team in November, 2012, it employed behind the door the
services of an Information Technology Company that uses “remittal software
application”.
