• No election is perfect globally
Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, on Saturday sent a note of warning to some interests threatening to go to war if the result of the election did not favour them, noting that no minority could disrupt peace and tranquility in Nigeria.
The governor also pointed out that no election “is perfect globally,” though he tasked the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to respond swiftly to tackle hitches recorded during the electoral process.
He expressed the view at Ward G-3 polling station located inside State Senior Secondary School on Itolo Street, where he voted at about 3:50 p.m. where his wife, Mrs. Emmanuella Abimbola and his first son, Ademola, among others, also voted.
After voting, the governor strongly warned against violence after the entire process, noting that Nigeria “belongs to all of us and no minority can disrupt our peace. If we want peace, we will define it by our presence.
“If the majority of Nigerians want a peaceful election, no people in the minority can stop that process. The majority wants peaceful election and the majority in this polling booth has shown that they want their will to prevail.”
