TELL NIGERIANS THE TRUTH ABOUT YOUR WORTH, BALARABE MUSA TELLS EL-RUFAI

Date:

Second Republic civilian governor of Kaduna State, Alhaji Balarabe Abdukadir Musa, yesterday faulted the denial of assets declaration of Governor Nasir El-Rufai allegedly put at over N90 billion and 40 houses, asking him to tell Nigerians the true position of his worth. He said doing this would set the records straight.

According to Musa , “as a public  office holder or servant, it is expected that the governor should be able to tell indigenes of the state the truth about himself and about the public affairs under his control.”

Musa, who stated this to reporters in Kaduna, suggested that El-Rufai should be more focused on how to generate employment, revenue and improve on agriculture, which he referred to as the three key factors to drive a vibrant economy

“There are thieves in Kaduna State, what is he going to do about people who have stolen government property.

“He has declared his assets allegedly put at N90 billion and houses in Kaduna and other places numbering about 40. It was promised on his behalf that he would declare his asset publicly. But when people got information that he secretly declared the alleged amount, he denied it.

“Then, let him go and declare it publicly. He made a declaration in writing to Code of Conduct Bureau. Let him release the copy of the Declaration Form he made to the Bureau to the Press, and if he doesn’t want to release it to the Press for any reason, let him say no I’m not worth N90billion in cash and 40 houses. This is what I’m worth. If you say what people are saying is not true, then tell us the truth.

“As a public officer, you are expected to tell the truth about yourself and about the public affairs under your control. That has not been done. Can a person who is claiming to fight corruption succeed when you have so many things to hide?, Musa stated.
