The Senate on Thursday proceeded on six weeks recess without debating any bill, more than two months after the 8th assembly was inaugurated.
The recess was unanimously approved by the lawmakers at the end of the plenary chaired by the Senate President, Bukola Saraki.
With this recess, the Senators have gone on recess four times. They are to resume on September 29th of September, this year.
From June 9th when the eighth Assembly was inaugurated, the legislators have spent about six weeks holidaying.
Our correspondent reports that so far, they have only sat for 15 days since their inauguration
