WHY I FLOATED FUTURE ASSURED—AISHA BUHARI

Wife of the president, Mrs. Aisha Muhammadu Buhari, weekend explained that what informed the setting up of her pet project, “Future Assure,” was to advocate improved health and promotion of health status of the vulnerable and marginalized section of the Nigerian population. Mrs. Buhari gave the insight at a cocktail party she hosted for the wives of the Heads of Foreign Missions in Nigeria on Saturday at the presidential villa, Abuja. Remarking that “one of the biggest challenges facing women and children in Nigeria is access to health care services “, the president’s wife also noted that her office would welcome initiatives, foreign or locals that would promote easy access to Medicare for children and women. Mrs. Buhari who thanked the women for gracing the event, noted that the roles of the wives of Heads of Mission were very special in every sense with high expectations of promoting social and cultural image of their respective countries, stressing that she held that in high esteem.
