APC’S POOR PERFORMANCE VINDICATES ME –SHERIFF

National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff, yesterday said the hardship faced by Nigerians under President Muhammadu Buhari and All Progressive Congress; APC-led federal government has vindicated him. Sheriff, who spoke to journalists at Jalingo Airport, said he was one of the pillars in the formation of APC but had to leave because the principles behind the party’s formation were abandoned along the way. “I am known to be a principled person, so when the principles behind the formation of the party were abandoned midway, I had no option than to leave. And today, the suffering Nigerians are going through under APC has vindicated me,” he said. While commenting on the conduct of the party’s congresses across the country, Sheriff said despite complaints from some state chapters of the party in the conduct of congresses, the party would come out as one united family. He lauded the peaceful congresses conducted in Taraba from ward, local government and state level, saying with the unity demonstrated by the party in the state, Taraba deserves commendation from the national headquarters. “We will copy the unity demonstrated by Taraba chapter of the party as an example to conduct a peaceful national congress,” he assured. Similarly, Taraba State PDP chairman, Victor Kona, yesterday declared that there was no vacancy in the Taraba Government House until 2023. Kona who disclosed this while addressing party loyalists in Jalingo following his re-election as the party chairman in the state, said the governor had discharged his duties diligently to warrant reelection. “It is no secret that our governor has performed well in rural electrification, road construction, water supply among others. Therefore, this exco is committed to delivering his Excellency, Darius Ishaku, in the 2019 governorship election,” he said. Ishaku in his remarks commended the party for conducting a peaceful congress, and use the forum to call on people of state to live peacefully with one another
