Former governor of Gombe State, Senator Danjuma Goje, has apologized to the people of the state for bringing Governor Ibrahim Hassan Dankwambo to power in 2011, saying it was a big mistake.
Addressing a crowd in Yamaltu Deba and Akko local government areas of the state on Saturday during the APC local government congresses, Goje said God used him and the good people of Gombe to give Dankwambo power but says he now regrets supporting him and urged the people of the state to put heads together and push Dankwambo’s government out in 2015.
He said APC is a party that came to salvage Nigeria from the shackles of corruption and mismanagement of public funds by the PDP government.
The former governor said he embraced APC to bring change in Gombe State and Nigeria at large saying APC is the party that will respect peoples’ views and opinions and one that will not misuse public funds while salvaging Gombe and Nigeria from the shackles of bad government and misrule and asked the people to join hands and make the change possible.
He said the votes of Yamaltu Deba is very important because it was the votes of the LG that ousted the government of Abubakar Hashidu in 2003.
Goje pleaded with his supporters not to remove or temper with any party property including posters, bill boards or offices belonging to members of the PDP but urged them to guard their own and not allow anybody to remove or tamper with it.
