WIKE: AMAECHI IS SEEKING COURT ORDERS TO STOP MY INAUGURATION

Date:

Rivers State governor-elect, Chief Nyesom Wike, has accused the state Governor, Hon. Chibuike Amaechi, of shopping for court orders to stop his inauguration on May 29.
He also alleged that the governor had embarked on a “heartless looting of state resources” preparatory to his leaving office.
Wike spoke monday in Port Harcourt when he granted audience to elders and chiefs of Elele Alimini community of Emohua Local Government Area of the state.
The governor-elect alleged that Amaechi was scouting for illegal court orders to stop his (Wike’s) inauguration on May 29, saying the latest was the processes filed by the out-going governor at the Federal High Court in Owerri monday.
Wike described the outgoing governor as a man suffering from the “poverty of the spirit”, adding that all efforts to frustrate his administration would not work as he was focused on delivering on his campaign promises.
He added that the PDP won all the general elections in Rivers State despite the fact that more attention was paid to the state because of the falsehood circulated by Amaechi.
“The April 11 governorship election was supervised by three Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) National Commissioners and we won. If Amaechi likes let him bring the APC National Chairman to conduct an election in the state, PDP will win.
“As far as God has given us this victory, we will sustain this victory and we shall make Rivers people happy. If he has collected all the money and he thinks the state will suffer, that will not be possible,” Wike said.
He added: “Amaechi said I will never be governor, but God made a different statement. God’s statement prevailed. He has done everything to frustrate my inauguration. Today, he was at the Federal High Court in Owerri to file paper to stop my inauguration. Since they have started to fail, I can tell you that they will continue to fail. My inauguration will hold on May 29.”
Earlier, the leader of the Elele Alimini community delegation, Mr. Emma Wonodi, urged the governor-elect to deliver on the campaign promises he made to the people.
