Two chieftains of the All Progressives Congress(APC) in Adamawa State, General Buba Marwa and Engr. Markus Nathina Gundiri have disputed the position of Governor Murtala Nyako that all members of APC are equal saying members of the Legacy Parties are superior to new entrants to the party.
A raging debate has ensued between Governor Nyako who recently defected to the APC and the members of the Legacy Parties over leadership of the party with Nyako’s camp claiming leadership being the state governor a position that was countered by the Legacy Parties.
The two party chieftains insisted that they are in control of the party in the state because the Legacy Parties which they formerly belonged to were responsible for the consummation of the merger that led to the birth of the APC saying that any other entrant into the party should take the back seat including Governor Nyako.
During his remarks, the former gubernatorial candidate of the Action Congress of Nigeria, ACN Engr. Markus Gundiri who was represented by his running mate Alhaji Abdulrazaq Namdas said it amounted to self-deceit for Nyako to claim that all APC members are equal saying that “They can’t compare themselves to us”.
Gundiri added that nemesis has started catching up with Nyako as the party which rigged him into office has claimed that the governor was foisted on the people adding that despite the deployment of government apparatus Nyako got only 40 per cent of the votes cast.
