THE Queen will miss Nelson Mandela’s funeral, over concerns about the long-haul flight to South Africa.
Around 140 heads of state from all over the world will travel to the country next week, to mark the death of the anti-apartheid hero.
The Royal Family will be represented by Prince Charles at the service in Qunu next Sunday, but the Duchess of Cornwall will not be accompanying him.
He will pass on the condolences of the Queen, who has decided not to make the trip to South Africa.
At the age of 87, it is thought Her Majesty has recently been advised to cut back on her long-haul travel.
