The newly elected national and zonal executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC) will be inaugurated in Abuja today.
The APC in a message made available to Daily Trust yesterday said the ceremony will take place at the Abuja Sheraton Hotel.
The inauguration of the national executives of the party will mark the end of the tenure of the interim national leadership of the APC which has been steering the affairs of the party since its registration as a political party in 2013.
Over 6000 delegates participated in the convention which elected persons for the 45 positions in the party’s NWC.
Most of the candidates emerged through consensus, but the party insisted on conducting elections in order to stick to democratic process. According to the chairman of the election sub-committee, Alhaji Kawu Baraje , nine out of the 45 positions were contested for by more than one person.
The party has constituted an appeal committee which has since started receiving complaints forwarded by members of the party who are not satisfied with the congresses which according to a source will soon begin sitting to address the issues raised.
