In line with its strategy to tell the African story, especially that of Nigeria from the African perspective, and content development, leading television station in Nigeria, Channels Television is partnering with Deutsche Welle (DW), Germany’s international broadcaster. The partnership will work fervently in the area of content development that is focused on the environment, business and energy.
Announcing this strategic alliance at a joint press conference by Channels Television/Deutsche Welle (DW) in the station’s studio in Ogun State, which was televised live, the Chairman/ CEO, Channels Incorporation, John Momoh OON, noted that the relationship between the television station and DW is one that is long overdue as the global village gets to shrink further everyday with the evolution of technology. “Channels Television launched its UK station, Channels 24 on Sky Channel 575 in London recently.
This is part of our strategy to tell the African story, especially that of Nigeria from the African perspective so that we do not leave this key element of definition of who we are, what we do and why to other people to tell on our behalf. “It is in view of this policy position that Channels Television agreed to get into this strategic alliance with one of the biggest media organisations in Europe and the world.
“As you know, Channels Television is a news television station that broadcast news on the hour, every hour for half an hour. We are acknowledged as “The Home of News” and recognised globally as the most reliable source of news in Nigeria and indeed Africa from within the continent,” Momoh said.
