indiscriminate skating by youths on the highways and other unauthorised places
in Lagos State, Governor Babatunde Fashola yesterday outlawed indiscriminate
skating. Fashola said henceforth, skaters in illegal places would be arrested.

The governor urged
skaters to do skating in designated places like recreation centres, stadia,
even Tafawa Balewa Square and other places suitable for the sporting
activities. He said skating on major roads, streets, etc, contravened the law,
adding that offenders would be dealt with.

Speaking at the induction

enabled by the implementation of Lagos Traffic 2012 should not be abused by
indiscriminate activities of skaters. The governor called on parents to
discourage their wards from skating on major roads and highways to avert
