Nigeria does not know the exact amount of her money looted and kept in foreign countries, the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF) and Minister of Justice, Alhaji Abubakar Malami (SAN) has said.
The Minister stated this over the weekend at a media roundtable on the Open Government Partnership (OGP) held in his office.
According to the AGF, “it is impossible to give you the exact figures against the background of the complexity of the issues surrounding the recovery of the funds, investigative process is ongoing, it is changing by the minutes, by the hour, changing by the day, depending on the circumstances. So against the background of the dynamism, conflicts of law at the international level we cannot give a categorical figure but that does not mean that we do not have an idea of the case by case.”
