FG LAUNCHES 2017 ARMED FORCES REMEMBRANCE EMBLEM

Date:

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo yesterday launched the 2017 Armed Forces Remembrance Emblem and Appeal Fund to which he announced a Federal Government donation of N10 million.

Osinbajo who stood in for President Muhammadu Buhari, at the ceremony which held in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, appealed to Nigerians to purchase the emblems and wear them proudly till the Armed Forces Remembrance Day in January as mark of honour for the nation’s fallen soldiers who died in service of the country and mankind.

The ceremony is in appreciation of the gallantry and sacrifices of veterans in the first and second world wars, Nigeria’s civil war, peace keeping operations around the world and internal security operations, and now particularly the ongoing campaign against terrorism in Nigeria’s North East.

“Since independence 56 years ago, our nation has witnessed a number of internal strife, survived a civil war but we have remained united.
