Governors Simon Lalong (Plateau), Abubakar Yari (Zamfara), Ifeanyi Okowa (Delta), Rauf Aregbesola (Osun), Abubakar Badaru (Jigawa), and Willie Obiano (Anambra) are currently on an official visit to China.
The governors are in China to attract foreign investment and sign some bilateral agreements. The governors visited an electricity firm today.

President Muhammadu Buhari had in April this year visited China along with some governors, including Nasir el-Rufai (Kaduna), Ibikunle Amosun (Ogun), Abiola Ajimobi (Oyo), Samuel Ortom (Benue), Badaru (Jigawa) and Ibrahim Gaidam (Yobe), and many ministers.
Many serving Nigerian governors have visited China since their inauguration. Ekiti State governor Ayodele Fayose visited in April, while his Kwara counterpart Abdulfatah Ahmed visited in June this year.
China had during President Buhari’s visit expressed interest to invest in refineries, power plants, mining companies, textile manufacturing and food processing industries in Nigeria.
