Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said the decision of President Muhammadu Buhari to probe the immediate past administration of President Goodluck Jonathan is because of the massive corruption that characterised the administration.
He stated this in Abuja on Wednesday while fielding questions from journalists during a press briefing at the party’s national secretariat.
Oyegun who was reacting to suggestion that the Obasanjo and Yar’adua administrations should be included in the probe argued that the kind of profligacy and corruption witnessed during Jonathan’s administration was monumental compared to the previous administrations.
He said that president Buhari knew that he has four years to address the challenges brought about by corruption and impunity in the six years of the last administration.
The APC chairman added that the impunity has grown so much in the last six years that some people are not even afraid of stealing public funds.
