JONATHAN APPROVES CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY INSTITUTE IN ANENIH’S HOMETOWN

President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the establishment of a National Institute of Construction Technology in Uromi, Edo State.
The construction institute was situated in the hometown of Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Chief Tony Anenih.
Vice President Namadi Sambo announced the approval during a special thanksgiving mass at the St. Anthony’s Catholic Cathedral, Uromi, for the 80th birthday of Anenih, which was celebrated in Abuja on August 4, this year.
Sambo said the establishment of the institute was in appreciation of Anenih’s invaluable contributions to the socio-political and economic development of the nation by the federal government.
He said, “As a mark of appreciation for the contributions of this great man, President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has graciously granted approval for the establishment of the National Institute of Construction Technology in Uromi.”
The vice president who described Anenih as “our dear elder statesman, father and mentor,” hailed Anenih’s life of commitment and dedication to the service of God and humanity, noting that his life personified hard work and resilience.
He recounted Anenih’s political exploits from the days of defunct Second Republic through his leadership of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in the defunct Third Republic to the formation and growth of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), which he (Anenih) currently chairs the Board of Trustees, concluding that he (Anenih) is a fighter in the political arena and stickler for peace, unity and stability of the nation
