NYSC STOPS CONCESSIONAL POSTING

Date:

Director General of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), Brigadier General Johnson Olawumi has said that there would no longer be concessional posting for all corps members.

Speaking with journalists yesterday in Abuja, he said Nigeria belonged to everybody and therefore every corps member would henceforth carry out his/her one year mandatory service in any state they are posted.
According to him, the move will help the federal government to maintain the main objective of creating the scheme.
He said concessional posting had always been provided for prospective corps members who had any issue with their health and needed to remain where they are receiving treatment or any nursing and pregnant corps member who needed to remain around her home to take care of her baby “but it will no longer be for all corps members.”
Olawumi said that during the online mobilisation registration of corps members, “there is a section where they can upload documents backing their complaints before they can be granted any concessional posting.”
He emphasised that “any other corps member lobbying for concessional posting is wasting his or her time because it will no longer be successful.”
