POLICE DISCOVER ARMS FACTORIES IN DELTA COMMUNITIES

Police detectives have uncovered
arms factories in three communities of Delta State. One of the factories,
allegedly owned by a 55-year-old sacked teacher, is located at Ugbise Quarters,
Onicha-Uku, where kidnappers and armed robbers from the area allegedly get
their weapons.
Police public relations officer, Delta State command, ASP Lucky
Uyabeme, said detectives had also uncovered arms build-up in Kwale and some
parts of Umunede and Agbor in the state.
He explained that based on intelligence report, the operator of
Ugbaise factory had in the last seven years indulged in the sale of illegal
arms and receiving stolen items.

He said that on sighting the police, the operator fled into the
bush, leaving his wife and daughter behind, who are now helping the police for
further investigation.
 Uyabeme added that after a thorough search, detectives
were able to recover a Russian pump action gun, barrel guns, double barrel
guns, with number 0015233977, one double 8259, packets of cartridge and 260
laptops.
Further checks revealed that the warehouse has some persons who
double as tenants but are part of the “arm deals, as in most cases they
ward-off suspicious act.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested an armed robbery kingpin by
Ologbo junction, a boundary between Edo and Delta states.
Upon interrogation, the police spokesman said the suspect
confessed to have been robbing people in the area in the last two years.
