A lawyer and former chairman of the Nigeria Bar Association, Ikeja Branch Barrister Ubani Monday Onyekachi has called on civil society groups, Nigerian citizens all over the country, students, labour unions and leaders to get ready for massive protests to stop legislators who are trying to entrench corruption into the fabric of our society.
He issued this charge in a post on his Facebook newsfeed following an intel he received which suggests that a group of senators were gathering to defend corruption.
Ubani in the post said, “If it is true that the senators are gathering in order to defend their “institution” which means defending corruption, then Nigerians have to rise in order to defend NIGERIA. I hereby call all the civil society groups, Nigerian citizens all over the country, students, labour unions and leaders to get up from their slumber and wage this final war to rescue NIGERIA from these unrepentant and irredeemable political parasites that are determined to destroy our dear country.”
“At no time in our history as a nation do we have this goodwill more than now to end this menace of corruption once and for all,” he added.
He also warned Nigerians that the nation cannot afford to ‘lose the fight under PMB to nib corruption in the bud in Nigeria,’ stressing that if evil is allowed to triumph over good ‘then we are in big trouble!’
