2015 GUBER POLL: PLOT TO REMOVE DELTA PDP BOSS THICKENS

As the
2015 governorship race in Delta State hots up, plans have been concluded by the
powers-that-be in the state to sack the state Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chairman,
Peter Nwaoboshi.
The same people recently
forced Victor Ochei, erstwhile Speaker of the State Assembly to resign as part
of the plans to trim the number of the aspirants and be able to install a
particular aspirant.
Part of the strategy to stop
Nwaoboshi from being adamant for a Delta North aspirant is for the State Youth
Forum for Good Governance (DSYFGG) to stage a rally at the PDP Secretariat in
Abuja metropolis for the sack of Nwaoboshi from the exalted position then
install somebody that can easily dance to the tune of the power brokers.
DSYFGG had earlier called on
the National Chairman of PDP, Adamu Mu’azu, to sack him for his uncultured
manner and acts that have fuelled political differences over zoning of
governorship positions among the three senatorial districts in the state.

The source claimed that the
powers-that-be had arranged the positions in which the governorship would to
the Ijaw, the Deputy Governor to Anioma, while the party chairman and the
Speaker would be given to the Urhobo.
According to a letter dated
March 23, 2014, addressed to the Inspector General of Police and signed by
Prince Kpokpogri, President General, DSYFGG, the group stated that the rally is
to press home its displeasure over the unwarranted comments of Nwaoboshi and
the demand for his sack except he resigns on or before 21 days.
He claimed Nwaoboshi had
failed to apologise to Deltans and therefore not fit to continue to act as the
state chairman of the party, as his emotion has betrayed the office he is
occupying, for failing to play a fatherly role to all aspirants, but rather
taking sides with the senatorial district where he hails from.
Kpokpogri said Nwaoboshi’s
actions had pitched politicians against themselves, maintaining that there is
nothing like zoning in PDP constitution, no written agreement in that regard.
He wondered why other
aspirants came out from other senatorial districts during former Governor James
Ibori and Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan’s election to contest, noting that the
interference of Nwaoboshi shows he has a candidate.
Kpokpogri claimed the youths
in the state condemned the behaviour of Nwaoboshi, fearing that soon
politicians may resort to hiring youths to commit havoc in a mater the group
considers as non-issue.
He disclosed that the group
has written to inform all security agents in the state on the development and
ready to use one political leader as an deterrent to others.
“And for peace and
tranquility, we demand that  Barr Nwaoboshi  resign to avert possible
political hiccups in the state, put an end to the ongoing unpalatable comments
and write ups that have characterised our polity or put the state on the verge
of strong political disagreement.
