AS part of the ongoing war against insurgency in the country and to inject fresh blood into the operations, a new General Officer Commanding (GOC) has been appointed for the 7 Division of the Nigerian Army in Maiduguri, Borno State.
The division is the command solely in charge of the ongoing war against Boko Haram.
The new GOC is Major General Lamidi Oyebayo Adeosun, who was the 14 Brigade Commander, Ohafia, Abia State, while the former GOC, Major-General Mohammed Ibrahim, had been deployed to the Army headquarters as the Director of Plans.
Also, the GOC 2 Division Ibadan, Major-General Emmanuel Abejirin, had proceeded on voluntary retirement, having attained the mandatory age of 56 and is to be replaced by Major-General Sanusi Mua’zu, who was until his appointment the Commandant, Nigerian Army Peace Keeping Centre, Jaji, Kaduna State.
Also, Major-General Adamu Abubakar took over from Major-General AbdulGaniu Wahab as the Chief of Administration, Army, while General Wahab proceeded on voluntary retirement after attaining the mandatory age.
Also to proceed on voluntary retirement is Major-General Chukwu, former Chief of Civil Military Relations, and is to be replaced by Major-General Orji.
The spokesman of 7 Division, Colonel S.K. Usman. is now the new acting Director, Army Public Relations, as he took over from Brigadier-General Olajide Laleye, who proceeds to Benin City as the Commander, 4 Brigade, Nigerian Army.
