President Goodluck Jonathan has approved the appointment of ace Broadcast Journalist, Mrs Seun Olagunju as the General Manager, Public Affairs of the Transmission Company of Nigeria.
Olagunju, who holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication and Language Arts(University of Ibadan) and a Master’s degree in International Law and Diplomacy (MILD), University of Lagos, had in the course of her over two decade career, worked with public and private broadcast organisations. They include the Broadcasting Corporation of Oyo State (BCOS), Ogun State Broadcasting Corporation (OGBC), Daar Communications (Owners or Raypower FM, Africa Independent Television, AIT) and the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA).
Until her appointment, she was the Head of Business Desk of the NTA as well as anchor of Prime News bulletins.
In the course of her distinguished Broadcast Journalism career, Seun Olagunju won multiple National and International awards, including the Nigeria Media Merit Award (which she has won five times). She is also a member of many professional bodies, including the Nigerian Guild of Editors, Nigerian Society of International Law, Nigeria Institute of Management (NIM) and the Institute of Corporate Administration (ICA).
As part of the power reform policy and unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN), the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) is currently undergoing a transformation process, which according to the Federal Government, requires competent Nigerians to drive the effort and bring value to the functions of the TCN Management.
The appointment, which is for four years, takes immediate effect.
