In line with its plans to strengthen its operations to meet the challenges of the new year, the Comptroller-General of Customs, Col. Hameed Ibrahim Ali (Rtd) has approved the redeployment of eight Assistant Comptrollers-General and 238 Deputy Comptrollers.
The redeployment, which takes immediate effect, is intended to rejig its manpower stock.
The Assistant Comptrollers-General affected include ACG Charles Edike who has been redeployed from Zone A headquarters in Lagos to Human Resource Development (HRD); ACG Ahmed Mohammed from HRD to Zone B.
In like manner, ACG Aminu Dangaladima has moved from Zone B to Enforcement, while ACG Francis Dosumu has moved from Enforcement to Zone D. ACG Augustine Chidi has been redeployed from Zone D to Excise, Free Trade Zone and Industrial Incentives (Ex,FTZ, & I I), while ACG Monday Abueh was redeployed from Ex,FTZ, & I I to Zone A.
ACG Umar Sanusi is leaving the Customs headquarters in Abuja to man Zone C while ACG Abdulkadir Azerema moves from Zone C to the headquarters.
The redeployment of Deputy Comptrollers of Customs affected the Service Public Relations Officer, DC Wale Adeniyi, who is now posted to Apapa Customs Area Command, Lagos.
According to the Customs boss, all the affected officers are expected to report at their new Zones and Commands immediately.
He reiterated Federal Government’s ban on importation of rice and vehicles through the land borders and charged all officers and men of the service to ensure maximum collection of revenues and strict implementation of fiscal policy of government.
