National chairman of All Progressives Congress (APC) Chief John Odigie-Oyegun has said President Muhammadu Buhari is working to assemble people through whom he can confidently actualize his vision for the country.
“In the next few weeks, he (Buhari) will now assemble the team who he can now confidently give direct instructions as to what he expects to be done. Which means he is in a better position to measure whether anybody entrusted with any function is performing or not performing, he is meeting target or not,” Oyegun said.
“So, we have a totally new situation, a new reality and a new approach to governance which is emphasizing target and deliverables in the lives of the people that he has been entrusted to govern,” he added.
He said this at the party’s national secretariat in Abuja yesterday when he received members of the Association of Northern Students who visited him on the occasion of his 76th birthday and one year in office as the national chairman of APC.
He said that the president has been working independently to pick out the people he will appoint to fill positions in his government in order to achieve the desired goal of the APC government to bring positive change to Nigerians.
He revealed that the president has spent the last two months understanding the situation that he has taken over from the People Democratic Party (PDP) led government.
