Majek Fashek |
So much has been said about Majekodunmi Fashekun, aka Majek Fashek, especially his self-propelled plunge from glory to ruin. But there is an indication that he might be on his way back to reckoning soon, courtesy of A-Plus Entertainment, a record company.
The CEO of the outfit, Hajia Oluremi Dangali, thinks now is the time to bring the reggae star back to the limelight.
“What he needs is rehabilitation and a strong pillar of support, not hisses or rejection. We cannot close our eyes and fold our arms and watch him waste away all that musical talent just because some people have chosen to label him a fading star. No. At A-Plus, we care and recognise a living legend when we see one and Majek Fashek still has so much in him to contribute to uplift Nigerian music and the entertainment world in general,” she says.
To prove that the company means business, A-Plus has handed a two-year recording, promotion and management contract with the musician. The deal is said to be valued at several millions of naira. Part of it includes a proposed tour of Italy, Spain, Canada and the USA.
