The Defence headquarters (DHQ) says troops fighting Boko Haram insurgents in Borno state have crushed an attempt by terrorists to overrun Konduga about 50 kilometers to Maiduguri.
A statement on the DHQ blog site said the soldiers in a battle that lasted 12hours, successfully crushed another attempt by terrorist who were on a revenge mission to Konduga.
The DHQ added that: “Troops are now combing the vicinity, in a cordon and search operation to determine the heavy casualties suffered by the terrorists in the encounter.”
The statement said: “3 Hilux vehicles, 1 Amoured Personnel Carried and a cache of arms and ammunition were confirmed captured by the troops.” More pics inside..
