KANO State governor, Dr Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has called on the stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to, as a matter of urgency, resolve which zone would produce principal positions in the National Assembly, saying unecessary tension currently being generated poses a threat to the unity of the party.
This was as he said he did not sponsor or ask anybody to mount a campaign for him to become Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), adding that “only Allah gives power to His creature.”
He warned that APC must be wary of actions and moves of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who, he said, may have tactically and clandestinely been making moves to create another Tambuwal scene in the House.
Kwankwaso, in an interview with newsmen in Kano, on Sunday, noted that the general belief was that the ruling party had to produce the leadership of National Assembly, while warning, however, that the party must be careful of the unfolding events.
“Anything short of the APC producing both Senate president and Speaker of the House of Representatives will not be good for the party. The APC should come out with a formula that will be acceptable to all the stakeholders,” he said.
He noted that the delay would be more challenging, adding that “if it is delayed, it will create much tension and confusion in the party.”
Kwankwaso added that APC must be careful of PDP’s game plan, adding that members of the party were actually watching events as they unfolded.
