The newly appointed Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), Air Vice Marshal (AVM) Adesola Amosu, has explained that the welfare of the members of Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) is very crucial because the task of flying the number one citizen of a country (the president) does not only require patriotism, courage and loyalty, but clarity, health and soundness of mind.
Amosu stated this at the weekend during the Presidential Air Fleet (PAF) family get-together at the Air Marshal Alex Badeh Circle, NAF Base, Abuja.
According to him, as “the number unit of the Nigerian Air Force”, it is expedient for the Pilots to be in the right frame of mind at all times to be able to work well”.
He said: “We must understand that the President is one of the biggest assets of the nation so, people that fly him around in the air medium must be in the best condition of mind, their families must be well catered for, when their families are well catered for they would be in the right frame of mind to do their respected duties, flying Mr. President.
“We are concerned because the Presidential Fleet is the number one unit in the Nigerian Air Force, so whether they are flying or they are going social, we have to be there”.
The immediate past Commander of PAF while speaking with journalists at the event, noted that the importance of the unit was further justified by the presence of the National Security Adviser (NSA) Col Sambo Dasuki (rtd) and the newly appointed Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Air marshal Alex Badeh.
