Latest information gathered showed that there were 15 occupants consisting of 12 passengers and three crew members onboard the private jet that overshot the Ibadan airport runway between 10.55 am, on Friday.
The passengers and crew members on board escaped death by whiskers as it overshot the runway at the Ladoke Akintola Airport, Ibadan, on Friday.
The pilot, as reliably informed, lost contact with the control tower due to hasty weather, thereby forcing it to crash land.
The jet took off from the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport in Abuja and was expected to land in Ibadan at 11 a.m. when the accident occurred.
The passengers, as reliably informed, were in Ibadan for a ceremonial function.
After the rescue operation, the passengers commended the management of the airport for their timely intervention.
Firefighters and rescue officials from FAAN were hurriedly dispatched to the scene in order to avert danger.
Confirming the incident, the spokesperson of the Nigerian Aviation Authority (NCAA), Carol Adekotujo, said it was a private plane from Abuja.
The plane landed safely but overshot the runway. There was no casualty.
Recall that a similar incident happened on Friday, November 3, 2023, when the Minister of Power, Chief Bayo Adelabu and others escaped death by whiskers.
