The Sultan of Sokoto and president of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSIA, Saad Abubakar III, on Thursday announced the sighting of the Shawwal crescent, signifying the end of Ramadan 1444 AH.
In a broadcast on Thursday evening, the Sultan said the Sultanate received information on the sighting, which was verified by the national moon sighting committee.
The Sultan therefore called on Muslims to live peacefully with one another irrespective of their differences.
