Former governor of Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva has won the rescheduled All Progressive Congress governorship primary election for Bayelsa State.

Sylva who polled 981 votes will contest the December 5 Bayelsa State governorship election on the platform of the party.
He will be facing the incumbent governor, Seriake Dickson of the PDP and other aspirants.
Earlier, his main rival and former Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) Timi Alaibe withdrew from the contest.
Sylva had won an earlier primary election which was cancelled by the Party’s headquarters after serious allegations of violence and intimidation were made by Alaibe and corroborated by Governor Adams Oshiomhole of Edo State.
While the rescheduled election was supposed to hold on Wednesday, it was again shifted to Thursday after an unforeseen circumstance was discovered.
