A FORTY-SIX-YEAR-OLD woman, identified as Hajiya Belkisu Mahmoud, yesterday slumped and died immediately in the office of the Niger State governor, Muazu Babangida Aliyu.
The woman, who was said to have waited several hours to see the governor, suddenly slumped three minutes after she was ushered into the governor’s office.
She was immediately rushed to the Minna General Hospital where doctors confirmed her dead.
The late Mahmoud, who was a former staff officer (SO) to the Deputy Governor, was said to be suffering from asthma.
According to a source close to the Government House, Minna, the deceased was on a private visit to the governor as her name was not among those on the protocol list to see the governor.
The late Mahmoud, a mother of three children, retired from the state civil service three years ago, and until her death, was a staff of the State Emergency Management Agency (NSEMA).
