CORRUPTION WILL KILL THE COUNTRY IF NOT TACKLED —BUHARI

Date:

THE All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Major-General Muhammadu Buhari, on Wednesday, on Cable News Network (CNN) interview with Christine Amanpour, said that his immediate reaction to the postponement of the elections was that of disappointment.
General Buhari, answering questions on the Boko Haram challenge being faced by the country, said the military failed because they were sent to the war front without the proper equipment.
He added that misappropriation or misapplication of the budget to the military must have been responsible for the failure to tackle Boko Haram.
On corruption, Buhari said the APC government does not have any choice than to tackle corruption because “if we don’t kill corruption, it will kill the country.”
When asked if he had changed from being a military dictator, the presidential candidate said “the situation under a military rule is very different from a democratic government,” noting that he was being unfairly judged.
